What Was Monetio?
Monetio (operating via monetio.io and other associated domains) presented itself as an online trading platform offering investment opportunities in forex and cryptocurrency markets. The company claimed to be operated by Interworld Brokerage Group, encouraging investors to deposit funds with the expectation of genuine trading activity and substantial returns.
What Happened?
The operation was fraudulent.
Investors were frequently asked to pay additional charges, including so-called withdrawal fees and tax payments, in order to access their funds. The trading interface itself was fabricated — designed to mirror legitimate platforms — and the profits displayed were not real.
Monetio was not authorised to provide regulated financial services. The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning in relation to its unauthorised activities.
